A Trip Up to Camp

Sunday after church we went to visit with the Osier family at camp.  We spent two nights in the workcrew cabin and had a great time.  Nora woke up early on Monday morning and crawled into bed with us saying that it had snowed.  I did not believe her, but when Winston came in saying the same thing, I got up to see for myself.  Sure enough, there was enough snow to make snowballs and a tiny snowman.
The kids were busy keeping the fire going.   It was a little boy's dream.  Jason and Bill also let them use the axe to keep the fire stoked.  I brought Caleb some hand-me-downs from the boys and he would not take off the dress shirt with the clip-on tie.  What a crack up kid.
Saturday before we came, Bill killed a bear on one of his hunting trips.  We got a good look at it.  He is also still hoping to get an elk this season.  Jason went out with him once, but no luck.
Monday was such a great day.  We got to build a fire, go for a hike, play in the snow, see a dead bear, pick apples, make the apples into applesauce and apple pie, and enjoy our friends. (The kids also love to watch TV!)
This is Oscar the dog.  My kids demanded a picture of him to show their Aunt Bonny and Uncle David who used to own Oscar.  He is a darling little dog.
Nora has a blue hippo named Blueie.  Blueie has a pouch you can store things in, which is accessed through Blueie's mouth.  Caleb and Winston discovered that they could pull the stomach out and decided to rename him Barfy.  I found this to be very funny, Nora did not.  It made her so mad.
It was a great few days away!  How fun we got to see snow!
